About me
Since I can remember I was always making something. My mother was an artist in her own right. I really believe she is the one who planted the creative seeds in me. I just love making things, I enjoy a challenge like taking something unwanted or discarded and giving it a new life of beauty and function.
I have dabbled in many different mediums, ceramics, fabric painting, oil on canvas painting, photography, refinished furniture, one of a kind painted furniture and many others.
I was intrigued about mosaics, so I decided to take an introductory class and I was hooked! I haven’t stopped doing mosaics since. I started combining mosaics with painted furniture, I have also upcycled wooden cigar boxes, Tabletops, Chairs, and shells with mosaic designs, along with a few custom pieces too.

How Dusty Road Studio was born
I had outgrew my kitchen table and needed my own space to create. There was a small unfinished building on our property at the end of a dirt road out in the country, that wasn’t being used at the time, so I took it over. In the beginning there were no windows or doors, and sometimes unwelcome critters would visit and wreak havoc with my stuff.
Once my husband realized I was serious about working in this space, he did install windows and doors for me. Next was electric outlets and lights, the space is still not quite finished and even though it’s not a beautiful space it is where I create beautiful things.
A client wanted to come out to see a project I was working on, she asked where my studio was, I told her down a dusty road. That’s how Dusty Road Studio got it’s name.
